A Personal Message

Welcome to:

"My Health Corner!"

Happy New You!

Undoubtedly the most common thing I hear the first week of January each year is about overindulgence. I don’t hear about all the details of how exactly someone had overindulged but the effects of the overindulgence. And those details are never left out.

Common feelings of overindulgence include; fatigue, sluggishness, muscle aches, bloating, body swelling, Gastro Esophageal Reflux, constipation, & weight gain. One person even told me they felt they had lost their “edge”.

Hindsight is always 20/20 so I’ll just leave the past in the past after this one tiny little suggestion,

“It wasn’t the last cookie, chocolate or alcoholic beverage that was imbibed that ultimately did us in. It was the first one.” The first cookie, chocolate, or gingerbread martini set this entire runaway train of toxic symptoms in motion, because sugar is appetite stimulating and leaves us wanting more. That’s it; I’m stepping down off the soapbox now…

Considering that the average person usually overindulges for approximately 3 weeks at the end of the year, we should allot 3 weeks in January for ourselves to do some New Year/New You Cleaning. Just as we take our automobiles in for routine oil changes, we must do the same for our bodies. In order for our bodies to run, perform, think, and function optimally we must do a bit of housekeeping from the inside out.

January 2010 is truly a beginning and an opportunity for us to detoxify mind, body, and spirit. This eZine focuses on Body Detoxification and Purification, the solution to overindulgence.

Lets make 2010 a Healthy and Happy one!

With Much Respect for you and the ones you love,

Inside Out Body Rejuvination

The question really is not whether or not we are toxic, but rather how toxic are we?

Toxins are divided into 2 categories; exogenous, coming from the external environment into our body and endogenous, created within our body as cellular waste. Examples of exogenous toxins are contaminants & chemicals in our food supply, air, water and through pharmaceutical medications.

The rate at which we accumulate toxins varies from person to person, and depends on overall exposure, our ability to break them down and eliminate them from our body.

Our Total Toxic Body Load is determined by our Total Toxic Exposure minus our ability to detoxify and excrete toxins. As you can see by this simple equation we can reduce our Toxin Body Load simply by reducing our exposure to environmental hazards and optimizing our internal abilities of detoxification and excretion.

We excrete toxins through our organs of elimination: Liver, Gastrointestinal Tract, Lungs, Kidneys, and Skin. Together our gastrointestinal system and our liver represent the state of health or disease throughout the rest of the body. When either of these organs are compromised or overburdened disease will set in.

Chances are that if we live in the same place we have always lived, work at the same job we have always worked, and visit the same places we have always visited, our environmental toxin exposure is more or less the same. What changes when we overindulge are the additional exogenous toxins that enter our system that are normally not present.

Example: Honey baked ham (filled with preservatives), caramel gingerbread latte, (filled with colorings, sugar, caffeine etc.), soda, (caffeine, colorings, chemicals, etc.), excess alcohol (to be processed through your liver.)

All of these overindulgence items begin to add up causing a sudden and considerable increase to our body bucket or toxins that need to be processed. Our organs of elimination begin to be overwhelmed, and endogenously, the sugar, pastry flour, and late dinners start slowing down digestive function, causing impaired digestion, decreased absorption or nutrients, bacteria to grow on undigested food, yeast overgrowth from all of the sugar we consumed and suddenly we don’t feel so great. This is the precise reason I hear so many stories of overindulgence in January. The answer? DETOXIFY!

We have designed a Detoxification Program at the clinic specifically for this reason, with the goal of lowering the overall body burden of toxins, which makes us all feel much better!

Step 1: Minimize Toxin Exposure – From outside sources – This includes food and drink.
Step 2: Optimize food and Dietary Choices – Choosing only fresh live unprocessed food. Hint: If it doesn’t look like it grew on a farm, don’t eat it.
Step 3: Optimize Bowel Health- Lots of fiber both insoluble and soluble to enhance bowel movements.
Step 4: Remove Candida – Enzymes, Probiotics
Step 5: Rebuild Healthy Bowel Mucosa: Slippery elm, L-glutamine, and milk thistle.

These 5 steps done consistently over a 3 week period will not only leave you feeling completely refreshed and energetic, but will: Assist in removing harmful bacteria & Candida from the gastrointestinal tract, enhance the liver’s ability to remove toxins from the blood, improve bowel elimination, and assist in rebuilding the mucosal lining.

Give your body a much-needed break. Plan on doing a detox to restore energy, body flexibility, and mental alertness.
