Sensitive Teeth
Often our body lets us know that something isn’t right long before it actually stages a revolt and this is no different when it comes to our teeth. Teeth that become sensitive to temperatures, and tastes, and can let us know that something isn’t right before the dental x-rays and a visit to the dentist actually make a diagnosis. We can’t tell you how many stories we’ve have heard about a troublesome tooth over a period of months that ultimately ends us up in the dentist chair with a tooth abscess requiring either a root canal or an extraction.
As in every case all the variables must be considered. However, in some cases it is possible to prevent that final dismal result and actually save the tooth. If caught early enough, isopathic injections into the gum tissues surrounding the affected tooth can reverse the life cycle of the pathogenic bacteria that causes tooth abscesses and neutralize it. This prevents further bacterial activity. Often 1-3 injections over a week’s time are all that is needed. In addition, specific nutritional supplements taken orally can strengthen periodontal tissue, enhancing gum strength and tightening loose teeth. Nutritionally, two supplements that come to mind are Coenzyme Q10 and folic acid. Dosing CoQ10 in 200 mg /day and folic acid in a minimum of 1000 IU /day. A side benefit of CoQ10 is that it supplies energy to heart tissue and folic acid is fundamental in promoting healthy DNA during cell division. In addition to tooth injections, homeopathic remedies work amazingly well in quieting a troublesome tooth and allowing it to settle down without the need for more invasive treatment. Every tooth in our mouth is linked to an acupuncture meridian, which means that it is directly connected to an organ system. Since everything in the body is connected and each action causes a reaction, the goal is to keep as many natural teeth as possible without disrupting the balance within your mouth and therefore your body. Always consider natural therapies before making the final decision to drill, kill, or extract that tooth! |
